Social Media and Office Assistant – Job Description

Reporting to the Digital Marketing Executive and Managing Director, you will assist in the management of social media platforms, general office duties, and in the business development of Golden Frog PR. The role will be based primarily from our office in central Ripon, North Yorkshire.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain an overview of life in a busy office, and to get involved in all different kinds of businesses.

Tasks will include:

  • Researching content for social media posts for a variety of clients from a range of industries
  • Creating monthly social media plans for each client
  • Creating blog and social media content
  • Creating reports for clients based on their social media metrics
  • Conducting market research for both clients and Golden Frog, both on the phone and online
  • Helping with the distribution of press releases
  • Distributing marketing and sales information
  • Helping to organise client events and attending where necessary
  • General office duties, assisting other team members where required

The right candidate will be intelligent, ambitious, computer literate, able to pick new things up quickly, and most importantly be able to write in English well with excellent use of grammar. They will be professional, confident and well educated. They must have an interest in marketing and social media, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. They will have a positive ‘can-do’ attitude and outlook and be able to work independently.

They will be able to confidently use a variety of social media platforms, paid experience on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and LinkedIn would be ideal.

They will be a business-minded team player, and able to adapt to different projects and client requirements, sometimes interchangeably. They will be well organised, methodical and able to plan effectively. An aptitude for numbers and statistical analysis would be an advantage.

Our Social Media and Office Assistant will perform a key role within the team – they must be proactive, as well as good-natured and willing to learn and grow with the role and the team. Progression within the company will be on offer over time.

Candidates will be expected to demonstrate a good working knowledge of the internet, social media and MS Office applications.

Previous experience working in social media, digital marketing or content creation is an advantage but not necessary.

Part-time applications may be considered. Pay will be negotiable dependent on experience, from £16,000-£18000, pro-rata if on part time hours.
